Perfecting Your Elevator Pitch

Description

As a business owner, you are always selling. You must have a concise message that tells prospective buyers, customers and clients what is your unique value proposition, what you do and how you can help them. This message will also be used in your website and any other promotional and sales materials you use. In this session you will learn how to write an effective elevator pitch.

  • We will open with a short presentation from Chamber member Jennifer Hillery, Speaker Sisterhood, on an how to put together an elevator pitch.
  • We will utilizing break out groups, where you will work in a small group to create your elevator speech with a Chamber staff member or volunteer facilitating.
  • We will than rejoin as a large group.
  • You will have the option to present your pitch to the group where you will receive feedback from your peers on ways to prefect your presentation. (Not required) 

You will need video capabilities. You will be on webcam for this webinar. Call-in only will not work as well for this format.


About Jennifer Hillery:

Jennifer Cummings Hillery is the club leader of Speaker Sisterhood of Melrose. Speaker Sisterhood is a network of speaking clubs that help women discover, awaken, and create their voice through the power of public speaking.  

Jennifer is also a lawyer, a published writer, and an active volunteer in her community having served on the boards of various not-for-profit organizations, political campaigns, and as an elected Town Meeting Member. As an attorney, Jennifer was given the "Justice Ruth Abrams Outstanding Attorney Award" for her writing skills and oral advocacy, and she recently was awarded the "Outstanding Service Award" from her Alma mater, Skidmore College.
